The gatling gun was first invented by R.J Gatling.The original gatling gun was made in civil war in 1861, Doctor Richard Gatling patented the Gatling Gun, a six-barreled weapon capable of firing a phenomenal 200 rounds per minute.It was a handcranked machine gun shoting 6  bullets per full crank Richard Gatling invented the gun to end the civil war early but it did do was  decrease the numbers of soldier that was needed during the civil war.  It would explode if you don't crank it right. Then in 1862 Richard Gatling made a reloadable steel chambers and used percussion caps. This is where it was first gatling gun was made in Colt Armory where the Gatling gun was being manufactured.

They simultaneously fire 7.62mm bullets from six barrels at up to three thousund plus rounds per minute, Powerful enough to take down an enemy aircraft or helicopter.  This gun takes the same idea of  one barrel fires while five other barrels cool down. This new type of gatling completly droping the whole cranking idea and puts a electric battery that drives this monster of a gun this was in essence a gatling gun to perfect.
